Part of investing in yourself is putting your money into building your skills. A part of that involves attending seminars - or with today's term, webinar. I understand, you already finished college, right? Those 4-years might've been exhausting. Hey, I totally get you. Let's look at trying to be more equipped by doing continuous learning and calibration.

Pre-pandemic, I always look for events on Facebook, LinkedIn, and EventBrite. I am there for new information, updates, new perspectives, and a new sense of learning. Because of the pandemic, in person conventions may seem like a thing of the past, but with herd immunity within reach, we may get to that point once again.

Below are some of the opportunities you can gain from attending in-person seminars:

Networking opportunities

I am a firm believer that the best way to augment your current set of skills is to learn from other people. Why? Same industry or not, there's a big chance for you to learn a thing or two from what they know. You must be open that there are people who consume differently. This may probably be the missing piece on the puzzle you've been working on. You'll never know who could be your growth partners in your future business. After the event, I approached men sitting at the aisle. I pull-out my business cards and started preparing to exchange details with them. I slipped those business cards and saw someone who owns an Investment Banking firm based in Australia. These are owners and if I didn't approach them, I wouldn't get this opportunity to get important details.

Get to know more businesses, suppliers and what they do

There are a lot of competent businesses around, SMEs, Corporations who have been here for so many years. Learning about them is a potential for you to augment your own to connect with them for business opportunities. I remember I would bring lots of fliers home!

Opportunity for camaraderie

You don't need to go alone to a convention. Bring your team along and plan for the day! Being in an event is really fun and exciting. Seeing many people who are looking for something or there for them to learn.

Now, you do not need to be a sponge to absorb everything. It's not about memorizing every stop. The important thing is to make sure you remember the key takeaways. Salient points that you can actually implement in your Business! We might never know when we can gather in person next time, but for now, we have online webinars to help us learn more from the safety of our own home.
