Aboitiz-led Union Bank of the Philippines reaped seven awards at The Asset Triple A Digital Awards 2020, including digital banker of the year Asia-Pacific for bank president and chief executive officer Edwin Bautista.

Bautista, who has over 25 years of superior track record in banking, launched UnionBank’s digital transformation including the introduction of revolutionary initiatives including the first selfie-banking in Asia, first fully digital bank branch in the Philippines, and first chatbot in the country.

The bank’s digital efforts gave a major boost to its key businesses while simultaneously enabling greater financial inclusion and inclusion prosperity for all Filipinos.

UnionBank has also bagged the digital bank of the year – Philippines for the past three straight years. Other awards include the Best ATM Project for its BitBox ATM, Best Digital Financial Inclusion Project, Best Digital Collaboration for its Retailer Financing Program, Best Digital Upgrade for its Mobile Check Deposit and Best Social Media Project for UnionBank GlobalLinker Trade Connect.
